The Government of Punjab invites applications from qualified and motivated individuals for the position of Senior Good Governance Fellows. The Punjab Good Governance Fellowship Programme is a flagship initiative of the Government of Punjab seeking to bring about social impact while providing the fellow with necessary mentorship and exposure.

Selected fellows will gain hands-on experience working with senior government officials on high-impact areas of governance and policy initiatives across departments. It is also an opportunity to learn from the best practices and policy implementation at the districts.
 
The fellowship also offers structured capacity-building sessions led by the knowledge partner, the Indian School of Business (ISB), including access to the online certificate programme ’Understanding Public Policy in India’ during the second year of the fellowship - offering a unique opportunity to learn, contribute, and build a career in public policy domain while honing the leadership skills as well.

The application form consists of the general details, details regarding their professional degrees, work experience, and undertaking by the candidate.

This is a full-time, on-ground fellowship, and selected fellows will be expected to work from their assigned locations in Punjab for the entire duration of the fellowship programme. A total of 50 fellows will be selected through a merit-based multi-stage process, comprising assessments and interviews.

Eligibility: 

  • This fellowship is available to postgraduates from a reputed university with 3 years of experience or graduates from a reputed university with 4 years of experience.
  • Postgraduate shall include, besides a master’s degree in any discipline, the degrees in any of the professional disciplines, such as MBBS, Degree in Engineering or Technology, or Law, or Chartered Accountant, or PG Diploma (one/two years) from a recognized institute/ university.
  • The age of the candidate should be up to 35 years at the time of application.
  • The applicants are required to fill up the registration form containing personal and professional details.

Fellowship Commitment Terms: The fellows shall be signing a bond for 1 year worth 1 Lac rupees on joining the fellowship, in case they leave the fellowship in the middle they shall have to furnish the same failing which they shall not be provided with the experience letter. This bond shall be re-signed upon the extension of the contract by a year.

Structure: Eligible candidates will have to undergo the following assessments as part of the application process:

  • Round 1: MCQ Assessment
    All eligible applicants must appear for a 45-minute MCQ-based assessment on the portal. The test will be remotely proctored and can be taken anytime within the assigned window. The assessment will consist of 30 questions, with a difficulty level ranging from moderate to high comprising of General Aptitude questions related to Communication Analysis, Critical Thinking, Data Analysis, Data Interpretation segments.
  • Round 2: Essay Assessment
    Eligible candidates will be required to write an on-the-spot essay (500–600 words) within a 60-minute time limit on the portal. The topic will be revealed at the start of the test. This will also be a remotely proctored session.
  • Round 3: Essay Submission
    Shortlisted candidates will need to submit an essay on a given topic.

  • Interview Round I
    Candidates who qualify will appear for a structured interview where they will be assessed holistically on their personal experiences, motivations, and potential to contribute within a government setup. The evaluation will be based on indicative parameters shared in advance.
  • Interview Round II
    The top candidates from the shortlist will be invited for a final interview round conducted by DGGIT. This round will involve a detailed evaluation based on predefined or updated criteria as determined by the panel.
