Research Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning and oversee project execution including developing concept notes and proposals, develop project design and plans, manage smooth operations of projects including field operations (if any), oversee data collection and management, produce regular project updates and
reports.

• Coordinate closely with government officials, researchers and other stakeholders on conceptualization and implementation of data and research projects.

• Travel to field to monitor and assess the progress in field work, including supervision of the field staff during surveys and quality checks (if needed)
• Provide support to policy and communication-related tasks including presenting project proposals and research outputs to non-technical audience

• Manage junior staff members including Interns and Research Associates.

• Assist Executive Director on program monitoring and writing donor reports

• Support to any other task as assigned by the line manager and/or the senior management of DPIC.

Qualifications Education

• Master’s degree (or higher) in Economics, Finance, Business, Development or related fields, with strong interest in development policy as demonstrated by coursework and/or professional experience.

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of work experience in research and project management, with substantial client facing components, and at least 2 years of direct project management

• Experience of working with academics

• Experience of working with government data sets

Working Conditions

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in India.

Location
Bhubaneswar, Odisha with occasional travel to field or Delhi.
