Identify and provide support in cases of POCSO. 
 

  • Seek an appointment letter from the CWC. 
     
  • Provide support to the child and the family during the legal process of the case. 
     
  • Find appropriate referrals to ensure linkage to services. 
     
  • Timely submission of reports to the CWC and ICPF in the prescribed format for documentation. 
     
  • Sharing of MIS and information every month. Specific responsibilities in the role of a support person are as under:
     
  • To give a copy of the appointment letter, received from the CWC to the victim and the family.
     
  • To explain to the victim and her family the role of the support person.
     
  • To build rapport with the child, and build the trust and confidence of the child and the families. 
     
  • Assist and inform the family about the proceedings of the case with details of available assistance, judicial procedure, and potential outcome of the case. 
     
  • Support person to maintain the confidentiality of the case. 
     
  • To address any concern having child survivor may have to be present during the recording of 161 Cr.P. C statement of the child. 
     
  • To read out the statement of the child. 
     
  • To accompany the child to the hospital and be present at the time of medical examination. 
     
  • Conduct a need assessment and home study of the child. 
     
  • To coordinate with CWC for the need assessment and rehabilitation of the child. 
     
  • To assess the mental health aspect and facilitate the counseling services. 
     
  • Address the concerns that the child survivor and the family may have. 
     
  • To assess the medical need and facilitate the medical need to accompany the child for the statement before the magistrate for the recording of Cr.P. C. 164 statement. 
     
  • To coordinate with legal aid counsel and public prosecutor. 
     
  • To coordinate with police regarding the recording of statements, investigation, arrest, filing of the charge sheet, bail, compensation, etc. 
     
  • To inform the child and the family about the availability of public/private emergency and crisis Services. 
     
  • To inform the child and the family about the procedures of the criminal case and the child's roles during trial. 
     
  • To inform the child and the family about the availability of victim compensation funds and coordinate with the police, Child Welfare Committee, and District Legal Services Authority for applying for compensation. 
     
  • To inform the child and the family about the status of the investigation, the status of the arrest of the offender, the status of the trial, the schedule of court proceedings, the status of bail of the accused, and the final verdict.
     
  • To prepare the child for giving statements, examination, and cross-examination.
     
  • To follow up with the District Legal Services Authority for legal aid and compensation. Page 7 of 12 Consultant’s Signature 
     
  • To follow up with the child and the family regarding any threat received from the accused and the accused's family and help to report the same to the police, PP, or ewe.
     
  • To facilitate the Bank Account opening procedure
     
  • To facilitate in the mental workshops and ensure the participants. 
     

Education & Experience: Graduation with two years of experience in the field of child protection, or child development  and  other experience if any related to children which will be specified in their resume while applying
