Purpose of this position
Leading the fundraising initiatives, developing and executing strategies to secure corporate partnerships and CSR funding. This role involves identifying potential donors, preparing compelling proposals, managing grant applications, and ensuring compliance with funding agreements. The incumbent will be responsible for strengthening relationships with corporate donors and overseeing fundraising campaigns. Additionally, the role includes strategic planning to enhance resource mobilization and drive sustainable funding for the organization's programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Identification – Research & Lead Generation
- Conduct in-depth research to identify potential corporate donors, CSR funding opportunities, and grant-making institutions aligned with the organization goals and values.
- Analyze market trends, donor giving patterns, and corporate CSR strategies to align fundraising efforts.
- Build a pipeline of prospective donors through online research, networking, and sector insights.
- Maintain and update a donor database with comprehensive profiling, including funding history, preferences, and potential contributions.
Pitching – Proposal Development & Outreach
- Develop compelling presentations, and concept notes tailored to donor priorities.
- Fill in funding applications/ due diligence formats ensuring compliance with donor guidelines.
- Coordinate outreach efforts, initiate first-level engagement, and present the organization’s work to potential donors.
- Conduct corporate meetings, CSR presentations, and networking engagements to pitch funding opportunities.
Cultivation – Relationship Building & Engagement
- Foster long-term relationships with corporate donors through continuous engagement and personalized communication.
- Develop customized donor engagement strategies, including regular updates, impact reports, and success stories.
- Participate in networking events, corporate volunteering programs, and donor visits to enhance connections.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align corporate partnerships with organizational priorities and impact areas.
Solicitation – Closing Partnerships & Securing Funds
- Negotiate funding terms, finalize agreements, and ensure smooth closure of corporate partnerships.
- Work closely with legal advisor/ M&E/Finance and/or program teams to review MoUs terms & conditions, timelines, compliances etc.
- Ensure timely follow-up on funding commitments, grant requests and fund disbursement.
- Monitor fundraising targets and strategize to meet financial goals.
Stewardship – Donor Retention & Compliance
- Implement a structured donor stewardship plan to acknowledge, appreciate, and retain donors.
- Ensure timely submission of Fund Utilization Certificates (FUCs), progress reports, and impact assessments.
- Conduct donor feedback sessions, and recognition initiatives to strengthen relationships.
Expansion – Scaling Fundraising & Innovation
- Develop new fundraising strategies, including cause marketing, employee giving, and multi-year partnerships.
- Explore innovative funding models such as sustainability-linked CSR initiatives, and digital fundraising.
- tay updated on evolving CSR regulations, funding trends, and sector best practices.
- Train internal teams on CSR regulations, and fundraising techniques.
Educational Qualification :
Master’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Social Work, Development Studies, Communications, or a related field.
Experience :
- 5-6 years of experience in corporate fundraising, CSR partnerships, or resource mobilization in the non-profit sector.
- Proven track record of securing corporate donations and managing donor relationships.
- Strong understanding of CSR laws, compliance requirements, and corporate giving trends.
Key skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong writing and storytelling abilities for donor engagement.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and donor database management.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage donor deadlines, and stakeholder relationships.
- Strong financial acumen to understanding company profits and CSR budgets.
