Social Science Teacher

• Teaching all areas of the curriculum as set out by the coordinator. 
• Organising the classroom and creating a positive learning atmosphere. 
• Reviewing the teaching-learning material used. Co-creating new teaching-learning material.
• Reviewing the existing curriculum. Creating new lesson plans as required.
• Assessing and recording children's learning and development. 
• Preparing reports for internal and external requirements. 
• Mentoring and working with other facilitators to plan and coordinate work. 
• Escorting children from/to their home if necessary. 
• Interacting with a child's home community (family and neighbours) on a regular basis and visiting the community.  
• Adhering to the rules of the organisation as stated in the employee handbook.
• Adhering to any existing policies of the organisation (Updating oneself from time to time of any changes, seeking clarifications regarding policies/changes)

• Excellent written and communication skills in English and Kannada.
• Conversational Hindi is a requirement

Educational Qualifications, Experience and Traits

• Bachelors in Social Sciences 
• DEd/BEd is an advantage
• Work experience as a teacher is an asset
• Should be of pleasing personality, good conversational skills with clarity of thought
• Must show an open mind - a willingness to learn new methods
• Must be physically fit and agile
• Able to put in full hours
• Willing to attend training outside centre and out station if necessary
