Role Description
Capacity Building
In consultation with the department of school and mass education develop a capacity building journey for teachers, master trainers and govt officials so that the implementation of computational thinking curriculum is successful and the systems capacity towards building future skills among learners is developed.
Organize and facilitate training/workshops for the associates who are in charge of mentoring and demonstrating the programme for the teachers to be able to implement it.
Organize and facilitate trainings/workshops for the teachers for them to be able to delivery session on computational thinking and future careers
Develop an educational leadership model for different stakeholders - state, district, schools - blended learning approach.
Support the master trainers in the state education department to be able to develop depth in their knowledge and skills around computational thinking and for them to be able to support the teachers
Content and curriculum development
Lead the end to end process of curriculum development especially on computational thinking and career. The curriculum is aimed for students of class 6 to 12. This will include:
Curriculum framework including assessment strategies
Offline and Digital Content
Pilot Testing
Roll out of the plan
Work closely with the SCERT and DIET Officials at state and district level in review and existing curriculum and identifying areas of integration. Also work to align the state’s teacher capacity building plan with the plan of Quest.
Develop a repository of Scratch sprites and projects in Odia for use of students in the state.
Ed-Tech and Innovation:
Develop the ed-tech strategy for the state based on innovations and learning experience framework of the organization and state realities.
Identify scope for innovation with tech tools/platforms that can be integrated across different strategies in the state.
Facilitate development and roll out of tech products like chatbots for learning used by students and teachers.
Participate in the organization level working group on blended learning and contribute to defining the organization’s position on education technology and blended learning
Conduct policy research in education technology and develop papers for advocacy
Hackathons
Anchor the design and delivery of the student hackathons across different schools, districts and at the state level. This includes:
Training of team of associates to facilitate the hackathons
Training of teachers to be able support learners with writing of problem statements, development of solutions and building the products.
Designing and facilitating showcase events at the district level
Organize advance hackathons at the state level with participation of students from across the state.
Design pilots through the bootcamp model to broaden the scope of the coding curriculum for grades 6th and 10th
Ensure documentation of the hackathons and create content for the social media posts around hackathons
Building the CSO collective strategy
Identify the NGOs, CSOs working in the districts and state to come together in taking in program elements in their program design. Support them with capacity building requirements.
Provide technical input to partner facilitators on instructional design, STEM content, and pedagogy support
Design flow for school based events or virtual events - career days, hackathons, parent teacher meets, teacher orientations, role model interactions and learning days.
Required skills and Experience:
Minimum 7-8 years of work experience, in implementing blended learning content for school related projects
Hands-on experience with working on coding/ computational skills/ STEM and life and career skills for school students
Prior experience working in government schools and managing programme at scale
Prior experience of facilitating training and workshops for the govt. Teachers and officials at district/state level
Willingness to learn and influence prevalent practices in education ecosystem
Deep understanding of the National Education Policy and State Curriculum Framework
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English and Odia (preferred)
Excellent IT skills
Willingness to travel extensively
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other teams
Job location: Bhubaneswar
Salary: The pay band for the position starts at Rs. 75,000/- per month (cost to company) (The salary offered will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the candidate)
