Organisation Description

Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) was founded in 2015. We were born with a vision to address the learning crisis at scale. Our first 8-month professional development course for 200 teachers and teacher educators was launched in 2016. This was followed by the introduction of more distance learning courses for teacher and mentor professional development in the following years.

In 2018, we launched district-level demonstration programs which paved the way for India’s first domestic CSR-funded Development Impact Bond. It later expanded to 30 districts with a clear focus on learning outcomes.

COVID proved to be a turning point, prompting us to modify these courses to become online/blended courses of varying durations during Covid. The state-level technical support and academic reform dimensions in 5 states were added later to make our FLN intervention more comprehensive.
