About the Role

QUEST Alliance is implementing the IBM STEM for Girls program across nine states in India. This initiative aims to develop 21st-century skills and a STEM mindset among adolescent girls, empowering them to pursue higher education and careers in STEM fields.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Curriculum Development

  • Support pilot implementation of the curriculum across field locations.
  • Facilitate coding sessions during capacity-building activities.
  • Assist in developing session plans on AI tools for teachers.

Capacity Building

  • Conduct training sessions for teachers and team members on ideathons and hackathons under computational thinking themes.
  • Provide feedback and co-design workshops on AI for teachers and team members.

Ideathons and Hackathons

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of team-level, state-level, and inter-state hackathons.
  • Ensure effective implementation of ideathons and hackathons in Karnataka, meeting project targets and delivering quality prototypes.
  • Train and mentor state team members for ideathon and hackathon sessions.
  • Anchor inter-state hackathons and mentor selected students from Karnataka.

Program Implementation and Support

  • Visit schools to support program associates and consultants with computational thinking curriculum delivery.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors/consultants for maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in planning processes to ensure effective program and budget adherence.
  • Document and share best practices for newsletters, social media, and other channels.
  • Use M&E tools for regular reporting and ensure timely submission of program reports, case studies, and best practices.
  • Support documentation of training, meeting, and event reports.
  • Coordinate baseline, endline, and other assessments, and ensure data is updated in the database.
  • Contribute to donor reports and meet all reporting requirements, including quarterly and annual reviews.

Team Engagement and Administration

  • Participate in team meetings, reviews, and staff engagement activities.
  • Be available for regular line management meetings and appraisals.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • A passion for technology, with prior experience in ed-tech projects or tech-related work.
  • Exposure to STEM education and career development initiatives.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous environments with flexibility and self-motivation.
  • Enthusiasm, energy, and a collaborative team spirit.

Skill Set

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and the state’s vernacular language.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and operational decision-making abilities.
  • Proven ability to network and build relationships with government and non-government organizations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and internet research.

Salary: The pay band for the position starts at Rs. 40,000/- per month (cost to company) (The salary offered will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the candidate)
