Our vision is to see all children learning in high-quality schools led by empowered leaders in India - the school Principals, HMs, and other education officers within the school education department.
 

We engage deeply with our government partners as we support the school leadership in the system. We work closely with our government partners to design professional development
programs for school leaders by understanding their priorities and needs. We support the school leaders through  workshops, coaching, and building a community of practitioners who can learn
from each other.
 

Overall, our support to school leaders focuses on various aspects from their people management skills to more strategic skills like their ability to set long-term goals. Our programs focus on capacity building of school leaders improving foundational literacy and numeracy, gender equity, school culture by training school leaders.
 

Since 2020, we have worked with over 4000 school leaders in India, supporting them in improving their leadership skills and school outcomes across 8 different government partners, and have impacted 500,000 students in India.
 

Job Purpose
 

The Senior Curriculum Manager is responsible for the development of end-to-end curriculum and training materials for Alokit’s program for school leaders and other stakeholders across India. This role involves tailoring the curriculum to meet specific project requirements and ensuring effective implementation on the ground. Additionally, the Senior Curriculum Manager will conduct training sessions for the program team to facilitate effective curriculum delivery. This position also entails creation of modules and customizing content to address the diverse needs of various program partners. The role also requires a willingness to travel as per the requirements of the program. 

You will report directly to the Associate Director and will focus on the following six key areas:


Curriculum Development and Customization
● Program Design and Strategy
● Training and Feedback
● Content Design and Review
● Research and Documentation

Reports to - Associate Director
Collaborates with - Internally - Leadership Team, Program Teams, M&E, Finance and Operations
Externally - Telangana government stakeholders

Job Location  - Hyderabad (Remote work is possible. Regardless of remote work, the employee must be willing to travel to Hyderabad when necessary. This implies that some meetings, training, or other work-related activities will require in-person presence in Hyderabad.)

Compensation  INR  9,00,000-13,00,000 lakhs per annum depending on qualifications and experience

Key Responsibilities
 

Program Design
● Create Theory Of Change /Concept Framework for different programs
● Develop Scope and Sequence aligned with the ToC (Theory of Change)
 

Content Design
● Design engaging and effective content for training sessions and workshops.
● Ideate and develop innovative training resources, such as handbooks, bite-sized videos, and posters.
 

Content Review
● Review training content developed by curriculum manager(s), providing constructive feedback for improvement.
● Ensure content aligns with the ToC (theory of change) and Program Goals.
● Observe workshop dry runs and live workshops to evaluate efficiency and provide actionable feedback.
● Conduct school visits to understand content uptake and implementation challenges. 

Team Professional Development(PD)
● Collaborate with the Associate Director in developing Learning opportunities for the Program Team. 

Conducting Pilots /Diagnostic Studies
● Support the team to conduct action research in selected schools.
● Codify learnings and develop plans for scale-up.
● Develop diagnostic study tools, including surveys and interview protocols.
● Lead diagnostic studies with support from the program team, interns, and external agencies.

Essential Requirements
● Bachelor’s or equivalent degree required
● Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the education sector with 2 years in hands-on curriculum development (for Senior Manager)
● Ability to contribute to strategic program design and develop concept notes and Theories of Change.
● Ability to design and use evaluation tools, analyze data, and conduct action research.
● Experience in developing innovative training resources and providing constructive feedback on content.
● A deep understanding of adult learning theory and significant experience in developing learning experiences for adults
● Experience working with teachers or school leaders in helping them improve the quality of teaching and learning in their classrooms/schools
● Strong writing skills and the ability to express thoughts, arguments, and ideas clearly and effectively
● Design (like Canva or Photoshop) and Videography skills (video recording, video editing) are preferred

● Skill in observing workshops and providing constructive
feedback for improvement.

data to inform program decisions.
● Skill in designing and conducting action research.

Research and Documentation

● Ability to conduct secondary research and integrate
findings into curriculum development.
● Ability to document and codify learning from pilots and
research.

Problem Solving 

● Ability to identify and address challenges in program implementation.
