Position Overview

​

The Energy Systems Internship offers an opportunity to work on Bihar's energy transition, focusing on renewable energy (RE), decentralized renewable energy (DRE), and energy efficiency initiatives. The intern will contribute to projects that aim to enhance energy access, promote clean energy adoption, and improve energy efficiency across sectors. This position provides hands-on experience in energy system analysis, policy research, and implementation support for sustainable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The selected intern will engage in the following areas:

Research and Analysis

Analyze renewable energy potential and adoption patterns in Bihar

Study decentralized renewable energy applications for rural development

Assess energy efficiency opportunities in various sectors

Research innovative financing mechanisms for clean energy projects

Support the development of energy transition pathways for different sectors

Technical Support

Assist in technical and economic feasibility assessments for RE/DRE projects

Help develop energy efficiency guidelines and recommendations

Support energy audit activities and data analysis

Contribute to the evaluation of clean energy technologies

Assist in developing monitoring frameworks for energy projects

Project Implementation

Support pilot projects in renewable energy and energy efficiency

Help organize stakeholder consultations and capacity building workshops

Assist in documenting best practices and success stories

Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and presentations

Support community engagement initiatives for DRE projects

Qualifications and Requirements

Educational Background

Graduate/Post-graduate student in Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fields

Strong academic record with focus on renewable energy and energy efficiency

Understanding of energy systems and clean energy technologies

Technical Knowledge

Understanding of renewable energy technologies and their applications

Knowledge of energy efficiency principles and practices

Familiarity with energy audit procedures

Experience with data analysis and technical documentation

Understanding of rural electrification challenges and solutions

Essential Qualities

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi

Ability to work with diverse stakeholders

Willingness to conduct field visits

Understanding of Bihar's energy context
