KHPT is a not-for-profit organization committed to improving the health and well-being of vulnerable communities across India. Since its inception in 2003, KHPT has implemented impactful, evidence-based interventions starting with HIV prevention in Karnataka. Today, its focus areas include Women’s Health, Child Health & Nutrition, Adolescent Health, Urban Health, Tuberculosis, Respiratory Health, and Non-Communicable Diseases. KHPT combines grassroots community engagement, evidence generation, and strong government partnerships to scale its programs, particularly in marginalized and at-risk populations such as sex workers, MSMs, transgender communities, rural and tribal groups, migrants, and those vulnerable to climate change.
KHPT also maintains strong cross-cutting functions in Communications, Monitoring, Evaluation, Research & Learning (MERL), and Digital Transformation.
KHPT offers structured internship programs designed to provide students with rich learning experiences and exposure to real-world public health challenges. Interns are mentored by experienced KHPT professionals and gain both desk and field-level exposure to public health initiatives in the Indian context. While the internships are unpaid, students may have opportunities to co-author publications or knowledge products based on their contributions. Interns receive an internship certificate upon successful completion of their assignment.
